The BOP Invitational 2026 - Chevy Chase will be on June 16, 2026.
This event will be individual stroke play with net handicap scoring. Registration is closed and the event is full. Click here or on the link above to see the flights and follow the live scoring starting at 0800 June 16!! Registered competitors will get a separate link sent to their phones to set up live scoring the day before the tournament.
Rules for BOP Invitational 2026:
Format: Net Individual Strokeplay
In this event, you will play your own ball throughout and are competing individually. Your score will be adjusted based on your course handicap, which is calculated from your index (displayed next to your name). The ranking in each flight will be determined using this "net" score. You are only competing against other golfers in your flight.
PLEASE enter your gross (unadjusted) score in the app and on a backup paper scorecard. All adjustments will be performed by the committee.
Rules: USGA rules govern play with the following local tournament rules:
Flights 1 and 2: Double bogey maximum score.
Flights 3 and 4: Triple bogey maximum score.
To keep things moving, please pick up your ball when your next stroke will be the maximum for the hole.
Like the regular league, all out of bounds will be played as hazard area. Any grass taller than the primary rough, bushes, flowerbeds, or wooded areas may be played as hazard areas. DO NOT attempt to play shots from out of bounds or other restricted/protected areas. Take your penalty drop and move on.
Play the ball AS IT LIES (no club length position or improvement of lie) with the following exceptions:
In a sand bunker, you may rake and roll (lift your ball, rake the location in the bunker, and roll your ball back to its approximate position).
If you are in a divot in the fairway of the hole you are currently playing, you may take a free drop within 1 club length.
For immovable obstructions such as cart paths and electrical boxes, etc., take relief as normal.

The BOP Committee has instituted a $10/team contribution to create a BOP Hole-In-One pot. Please send $10 to Rich if you already paid.
$260/team league fee can be paid in cash or checks made out to "BOP Golf".
When scheduling matches, make sure to check your individual page since you will only be scheduled to play 8 out of the 9 or 10 other teams in your division.
