HOW TO CALCULATE STROKES FOR A MATCH

BOP 2 – Man Scramble Golf League Rules

Season begins Apr. 1st and ends Aug. 16th.

Playoff matches begin after Aug. 18th and will continue to a final match by Oct.

All playoff teams from each division will be set into a playoff bracket for each conference determined by total points, wins, and birdies and distributed by the committee.

PGA - Courses need to be between 6100 and 6500 yards.  The home team will determine which color tee box will be used.  If it is a combo course, you can play it.  If not and the yardage needs to be adjusted, the visiting team will determine the hole and adjust tee box to use on the individual hole(s) to meet the required yardage.

Korn Ferry - Courses need to be between 5800 and 6100 yards.  The home team will determine which color tee box will be used.  If it is a combo course, you can play it.  If not and the yardage needs to be adjusted, the visiting team will determine the hole and adjust tee box to use on the individual hole(s) to meet the required yardage.

We play a 2-man best ball.  The ball selected to be played should be marked and then played within 1 club length of the mark from tee box to green fringe area.  When ball is on the fringe (closely mown area around the green), the ball can only be moved the length of a putter grip (no more than 12 inches.)  The ball needs to be played on the same cut of grass as the mark, no closer to the hole, and no improvement of lie (Cannot move ball from rough to fairway, or from fringe to green).

Balls on greens shall be marked and played within 1 putter head length.

Use point of entry for OB or in a water hazard.  Penalty stroke assessed.  The ball can be placed back along a line that extends from the hole through point of entry or sideways within 2 club lengths but no closer to the hole.  The drop should be agreed upon by both teams.  No provisional balls will be played.

If a ball is believed to be not found without being in a water hazard or OB and provisional balls played, then an original ball is found in the process, the original ball can be played with no problem. There is not a need to announce your intentions, it is assumed.  The goal is to have fun every match.

Any matches that cannot be agreed upon by the last week of match play - the committee will determine 3 days for teams to pick to play.  ALL matches need to be completed for seeding of playoffs.  If a suitable day cannot be agreed upon by both teams each will lose 1.5 pts from their total points in standings for each outstanding match.  Bottom line, COMPLETE all your matches, it will determine playoff seedings.

All HOME teams are responsible for entering the scores on the league website asap.  This will ensure up to date standing.  Remember to record scores, pts and birdies as there are payouts for birdies at the end of the season.  No teams should enter a score or determine point distribution for matches not played.  Please complete all matches scheduled.  Teams that do not complete the matches will have pts deducted per the rules and not asked to return next year.

If a match has been scheduled, it should then be played as agreed upon by both teams.   Any team that forfeits a match will not be playing in the league the following year.

Playoffs – Playoffs are MATCH play scoring for 18 holes.  If teams are tied upon completion of match the tiebreaker will be the head to head outcome (taking any adjusted strokes into account) on #1 handicap hole.  If tied, then #2 handicap hole and so on until a winner is determined.  If a team is getting a stroke on the hole, (example team A scores a 5, team B scores a 6 but is receiving a stroke on that hole) they score a 5, tied hole.

Thanks for your cooperation and happy golfing!
